Blake was born in Winter Park, Florida, in 1981, the oldest of four children. After living for three years in Atlanta while his father attended seminary, the family moved to Lake County in 1987. He graduated from Lake-Sumter Community College before earning his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. After working on special elections for the Republican Party of Florida, he went to work in the Florida House of Representatives as the Legislative Aide for District 33, which includes portions of Lake, Sumter, and Marion Counties. Blake was a board member of the United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties and is an alumnus of Leadership Lake County, class of 2011. He and his wife, Jackie Bell Blake, attend Good News Church in Leesburg, where he served in the music ministry. Josh and his wife have three-year-old twins, Knox and Stella.
